We were tasked with the complete takeover of London’s Borough Market for a private, exclusive event by a new client. Our role was to provide all project and fire safety services to secure the necessary permissions and ensure fire safety measures were in place throughout the project, culminating in the handover back to the Market.
Fire Safety Services provided:
– Fire risk assessment
– Fire safety planning and infrastructure design
– Emergency evacuation procedures documentation
– Crisis management planning
– Fire exit and safety plan specifications
– Fire register and flame-proofing of materials (including certification and treatment advice)
– Capacity calculations for the Market
– Fire safety statement per BS9999:2017
This complex project required careful consideration of fire safety due to the temporary change of use of the Market, increased power demands, introduction of new materials and activities, all within a protected site.
Classic London Buses were put in place as Hostile Vehicle Mitigation (HVM) and they added a level of safety without advertising the seriousness of their purpose.
